Cape Flattery - Fender Removal and Replacment

Under current management working with Cape Flattery Silica Mine (CFSM) to undertake remedial works to the berthing dolphins on their export wharf, located just over 50km north of Cooktown, on the south-eastern corner of the Cape Flattery Headland.

The scope of works addressed the damage and deterioration currently present on the berthing dolphin fender cones, front panels and chains.

The access trestle is in the order of 230m in length with a 200m long wharf that extends from the termination of the access trestle to Berthing Dolphin 1 (BD1). The structure comprises three mooring dolphins and five berthing dolphins (BD1 to BD5). The declared depth at berth is -14.1mLAT with areas of -25mLAT near BD1 dolphin.

All works completed in a timely manner so shut down could be completed and offloading to bulk carriers could commence.
