Under current management working with Rio Tinto – Yarwun, orchestrated the replacement of the J spool refinery sea water pipeline.
This scope of work is for the subsea inspection, enabling and installation works necessary for the replacement of damaged section of Rio Tinto’s Yarwun refinery seawater import pipeline.
Seawater plays a critical role in Rio Tinto Alcan Yarwun (RTAY) alumina refinery (refinery) operations. It is supplied to the refinery by two submersible pumps via a 1000mm Nominal Diameter (DN1000) Polyethylene (PE) pipeline.
These pumps were installed as part of the Yarwun Stage 2 expansion project (Y2).
This PE pipeline runs parallel to the wharf and jetty along the seafloor from the supply pumps until it meets land where it continues to the refinery both above and below ground.
Also inspected were the Fire Pump intakes and the Diffuser pipeline.
Works were completed over multiple shutdowns to the Rit Tinot Yarwun Alumina Refinery and completed within scheduled time, incident free.
